Elegant and painterly, Paradise Shawl is a beautiful conversational print inspired by Doris Zinkeisen’s celebrated self-portrait, in which the artist appears draped in a striking decorative shawl. The design translates this inspiration into a graceful composition of tropical birds and blooming chrysanthemums, scattered across the cloth like a painted garden. Meticulously hand-painted in the Liberty design studio using gouache, the artwork captures the softness and subtle colour transitions of traditional Asian shawl motifs, giving the print a refined, almost illustrative quality.

Printed on Liberty’s Augusta linen, this cotton-linen blend is light, breathable and beautifully soft to the touch. Combining the natural coolness and durability of linen with the smoothness of cotton, it has a relaxed drape and a gentle texture that feels comfortable against the skin. The result is a fabric that retains linen’s character while being slightly softer and easier to wear.
